AFRICA, Central Africa Medical M

Terri UnterholznerMy first trip out to one of our clinic sites during my first week in Malawi is an experience I will never forget.  Our devotion began with a hymn out of the Chichewa hymnal, and I was brought close to tears.  I couldn’t understand a word of it, but the sound of so many voices raised in unique harmony was one of the most beautiful sounds I had ever heard.

A family friend informed me that the Central Africa Medical Mission was looking for an administrator for the Lutheran Mobile Clinic in Malawi and thought that I might be interested.  She put me in contact with the nurse recruiter who forwarded me the description of duties for the position.  As I read through the list of duties, I realized that the skills I had learned while working at a grocery store had directly prepared me for the tasks of the medical mission.  I have seen the Lord’s guiding hand in my life leading me to serve Him and others in new ways and ultimately bringing me here to Malawi.
